The Daiwa Masu No Tane is a unique Japanese bottom-fishing trout lure designed to imitate a small piece of food or roe resting just above the bottom.

Unlike a conventional jig, Daiwa separates the weight from the buoyant 10mm body. Once the lure reaches bottom, the small “seed” body floats and gently sways with the movement of the water, creating a subtle presentation even while the lure is sitting still.

Cast it out and allow it to reach bottom, then work it with gentle lifts and falls, small rod-tip twitches, or short turns of the reel followed by a pause. The pause is important because that's when the buoyant body can hover and move naturally above the bottom. Daiwa actually recommends tying directly to the lure when possible, as a snap can occasionally allow the hook to foul the line.

Ikura features an egg-inspired color designed to resemble salmon roe.
